It has officially been one year of various lockdowns and COVID-19 public health measures. The Ilderton Agricultural Society has been more flexible than ever, and willing to pivot their traditions to accommodate the realities of a pandemic. We are still working towards the 2021 Ilderton Fair and preparing to accomodate for various public health restriction scenarios. Regardless of the scenario we will do our best to deliver an event to the people of Ilderton!

As an organization built on tradition, our current COVID-19 environment presents challenges to our long standing organization. Fortunately we are not alone on this journey, and with every challenge comes opportunity! Now, perhaps more than ever the Ilderton Agricultural Society needs to be focused on the objective of supporting and encouraging activities intended to enrich rural life. With limitations to travel that have been brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, this has highlighted the importance of local business and organizations to the vibrance and functioning of our rural communities!

Ilderton is uniquely positioned as a growing and diverse community to bring people together in collaboration, sharing and celebration. As we look forward to the ‘great re-opening’ we will seek collaborations with other community organizations and bring opportunities for the people of Ilderton to enjoy and celebrate! See you at the 2021 Ilderton Fair!

It’s hard to believe that a year living with COVID-19 has passed. It has been amazing to watch the Board of Directors and Volunteers navigate and persevere through all the changes that have occurred. Our community has been quick to show support and participate in both modified and new events this past year. The fair would not be the same without our wonderful community behind us.

Each year, Ilderton Fair goers look forward to seeing the new items that members have worked hard on all year to exhibit. I know I am looking forward to seeing what our talented community has been working on, I am sure everyone has kept busy!

With COVID-19 will came changes from the traditional fair that we know. We don’t know what those changes will be yet and it is hard to anticipate what this year will look like, but I have no doubt that we will come back better than ever!

Volunteers are the heart of the organization and without them our Fair would not be possible. There are many volunteer opportunities available at our fair, think about reaching out today!

I look forward to seeing everyone at the next Ilderton Fair!
